Water Damage or Floods on Carpets
Water damage or floods can lead to mold, musty smells, damaged walls and floors, and ruined furniture and belongings. It’s necessary to get rid of the water, and take steps to keep your home dry.
Grey water vs. Clean Water
Used or grey water and sewage may be contaminated with bacteria and other dangerous materials that may require more intensive remediation. For this reason we are only able to assist with the extraction of water from clean water leaks.
Clean water could come from:
- Rain water
- Dishwasher
- Washing machine
- Hot water tank leak
Grey water is water that has already been used (in a home or a business). Grey Water or Sewage sources would be:
- Sump pumps or floor drains
- Sinks
- Showers
- Toilets
Water Damage on Carpets Process
The process for cleaning up with a flood is very different than our routine cleaning process.
- All furniture and other items must be completely removed before we arrive from the carpeted area or room where flood occurred.
- Carpets will be pulled back, and the underlay will be removed – you are responsible for the disposal of the underlay, and should have garbage bags on hand.
- You will need to arrange the replacement of the underlay with a carpeting company.
- The water will be extracted with our high power vacuum.
- Both sides of the carpet as well as the subfloor will be cleaned and treated with Anti-Microbial, to prevent any growth of microorganisms.
- Both the carpet and the underlying floor must be allowed to thoroughly dry following the cleaning – use of fans, extra heat and air circulation can help to speed up this process.

If you are concerned about allerges in your home including mold, mildew, and pollens then antimicrobial carpet cleaning is the solution foryou. Pro Carpet Care uses a natural Anti-Microbial solution which is all organic, non-toxic and biodegradable. Smells like thyme – earthy with lemony and minty tones, toget your carpet spotlessly clean.
Pricing for Flood Clean Up
Flood clean up is not priced by room or area, but with an hourly rate. Pricing will be estimated on site due to the difference in time depending on the flood conditions as well as size of the area. Flood clean up can take several hours to complete depending on the size of the flood. Anti-Microbial treatment is mandatory, and is an additional price per Sq Ft.

If you have major water damage or other major disaster, the most important first step is to contact your insurance company. They may have a certain process you need to follow in order to make a claim, and may be involved in choosing a restoration company to manage the process.
When Did the Flood Happen?
Mould and mildew can start to grow in damp areas very soon after flooding occurs, and depending on how extensive their growth is, may require the services of a restoration company, or even full replacement of the carpet. We only clean/extract within 48 hours of flooding because we do not have the procedures, equipment and training to do full remediation that may be required after that time frame.

Is it better Shampoo or steam cleaning?

Pablo and his team did a wonderful job on our rugs, living room furniture and kitchen chairs. We desperately needed a full cleaning and have some fibers that needed extra care and expertise. The team is certified in all organic fibers and lifted stains that we imagined could only be rectified with a new upholstery or slip cover. The team was very kind and efficient. We will definitely be using them again for our maintenance cleaning!

I requested an appointment late Wednesday night and they were able to come Friday morning. The booking process was so easy and I received the name and picture of the gentleman coming. Pablo and his crew were right on time and he walked through and explained what they would be doing, as well as answering my questions. Everything was handled with the utmost care. My carpeting, which I had assumed was somewhat beyond help, looks and smells new (it’s at least 10 years old) and my sectional looks brand new. Outstanding experience! From estimates to completion of the job, it was frictionless and they did a great job. We had some old urine spots from our pups and when they showed us with the UV light we were blown away.We have been shampooing our rugs and cleaning using enzyme cleaners and nothing really gets the smell out.We’ll now the house is finally back to smelling fresh and clean without any wierd lingering odors.Highly recommend!
OMG!!!! The transformation of my floors are amazing! I never thought they would ever look like new again. I thought I hated the tile because of the dirt that acquired through the years. I have had multiple companies come in for a quote and say the only way to restore the tile is to regrout. Pablo came in and provided the most common sense advice which was to clean the tile. It’s not cracked why would you regrout? I was still uncertain about his advice but his confidence that he displayed made me choose his company. He was certain he could restore my tile. These guys are wonderful--we experienced our first basement flood just days before Christmas and the fallout was emotional and time consuming. Their scheduling contact (Elise, I think?) was compassionate and patient in walking me through our options and got us on their schedule immediately. Pablo and his team were there the next day and were knowledgeable, professional, and overall did an excellent and thorough job in getting us back in shape. There was a decent price discrepancy between our initial conversations and the onsite estimate but that was understandable given the scope of the job once Pablo saw the damage. He came back multiple times, first to check how it was drying, then again when he decided to do a full second cleaning to be safe, and finally a couple weeks later to touch up some areas. They are experts in what they do and perfectionists in the best way possible! Highly recommend this group for restoration after water damage but I also look forward to using them for whatever life throws at us next.

I'm not sure what I can say to express my gratitude for such a great job on my wall to wall carpet and sofa cleaning. From the first call to after the job was complete, my experience was beyond what I could have hoped for. Folks did not think the carpet was salvageable but they came in person to confirm they could clean them to my satisfaction. Sure enough, they did it! It truly was a minor miracle but they were able to get the off white carpet clean. They were hard working, professional and very attentive. I cannot recommend them more strongly. You will not be disappointed!

On Christmas, we had a pipe burst inside our home and had extreme water damage to our family room carpet + couch. We called on the 26th and Alice was SO nice and very helpful. She understood the urgency, sympathized with our situation and was able to get us on the schedule ASAP the same day.Pablo was amazing from the start - so professional and upfront stated there’s not much he could do but get blowers to dry the rug out and spray it with anti bacterial to stop molding from happening. He let us keep the blowers all day/overnight to get the rug dry and it already turned out better. He didn’t charge us for the blowers - all he charged us for was the bacterial products which was great.George helped Pablo with the couch and it turned out impeccable. He got all the water stains off the couch and cleaned it top to bottom. They took their time with the couch, diligently sprayed the rug and the situation turned out great.Would absolutely recommend them to anyone!

I called on a Friday afternoon regarding a coffee stain on my rug, spoke with Pablo who made a point to fit me into his busy schedule Saturday morning.
